Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? How did I get here? What can I do to better my life? These are questions we all ask ourselves at one time or another. We are all on a road to self-discovery but each of us has our own unique way of reaching self-actualization. Throughout this guide, you will learn how your expectations, choices, and thoughts determine your outcome. What are the four types of communication and how can you execute each one more effectively? What are cognitive biases and distortions, and how are they affecting your life? Why are you failing to reach your goals and how can you create an action plan that you can follow? Unlike other self-help guides, Best is Temporary - Be Better by Joe Jekel requires a greater deal of participation by the reader, but in doing so you will understand the workings of the human mind, giving you all the tools you need to reach your greatest potential.
I was literally blown away by the contents of Best is Temporary - Be Better by Joe Jekel. It contains so much information regarding personal development. This is definitely not a book for someone who just wants a simple self-help book to find the motivation to change. This guide really digs deep into the human mind so you will understand the meaning behind every thought and action. I loved the self-efficacy and self-confidence comparison and the explanation of intuition and empathy. The Nine Interrogatives analysis was explained in detail but so clearly that anyone would be able to follow. This will help anyone make more informed choices. The teachings of Maslow, Jung, and Madzook really enhanced this guide and again explained so clearly. The questionnaires and exercises at the end of the guide were just the icing on the cake for me. It enabled me to bring all that I had learned throughout the book together. This is definitely not a guide for someone who likes to be told how to improve their personal development. If you want more than a self-help guide and to discover the true meaning of the human psyche then this guide is for you. Highly recommended."

Best is Temporary; Be Better

Best is Temporary - Be Better by Joe Jekel is a self-help book that makes it possible for you to become better every day. Striving to become the best can be limiting; it means that you have a certain capacity that can only be reached once and then there is no possibility of growth beyond that. By striving to become better, you are opening more avenues for yourself to grow, enhance your abilities and become better with every passing day. Such an ideology is strong enough for you to enjoy a fulfilling life while setting new boundaries that are targeted towards your personal growth. The author has shared some brilliant ideas that, if executed properly, can help you increase your personal skills, improve your health and increase your quality of life. This is about your personal growth, how you perceive yourself and how you want to be perceived. If you believe in yourself, in your abilities, and appreciate yourself, you can become a better version of yourself every day.
This is a very useful and positive self-help book. Self-help books are positive in general, but this one, in particular, is on another level. The author’s idea about striving to become better every day rather than trying to become the best is very poignant. He shares the idea from the get-go and allows the reader to digest the information being provided at their own pace. He does not use any big words, he isn’t making claims; he just fills the reader with positive energy and allows them to have faith in themselves. I also enjoyed the fact that the author left the end goal to the reader; we can decide what we want to improve and how we want to improve it. The potential is within all of us; it is just what we make of it. Very well-written with a solid foundation.

Best is Temporary – Be Better is a work of non-fiction centered around self-help and self-discovery and was penned by author Joe Jekel. Written in a developmental atmosphere, the title of the book best sums up its philosophy on the road to self-improvement. Whereas being the best at something suggests a capacity that has been fully reached, with nowhere left to aim, becoming better and better each day is a journey that can be celebrated by each increment but also puts no final limitations on your progress. It is with this belief in mind that the volume goes on to explore strategies and implementations to daily life that can lead to such betterment.
Author Joe Jekel has some really good ideas on the notion of self-betterment, and he intertwines these concepts with a solid grounding in philosophy and psychology as the work unfolds over its fifteen highly engaging chapters. Though not every approach will immediately resonate, the work as a whole covers the full progression towards an evolution of the self, and there are many daily practices that can be implemented along the way, and questions and appraisals we can put to ourselves to be more critical about our growth. The tone of the book is confident and inspiring, delivering cogent knowledge with a strong assurance of its many benefits for the reader. Overall, Best is Temporary – Be Better is likely to become a bedside mantra for those who fully embrace its powerful ideology: a well-written and highly recommended self-help work.
